The URECA Center, with support from the Dean of the College and the Robert B. Outland Sr. Family Fund for Academic Excellence, invites proposals for funding to support innovative, mentored scholarship between students and faculty in the College of Arts & Sciences.

Launched with generous support from the Outland Fund, this new URECA initiative is designed to be flexible, inclusive, and catalytic, providing grants that remove barriers to mentored scholarship and spark creative collaboration. Grants may range from a few hundred dollars to as much as $5,000, depending on scope and justification. Projects may take place during the academic year or the summer.

URECA particularly encourages new and creative approaches to mentored scholarship between faculty and students, including collaborations that cross disciplinary boundaries or explore novel forms of scholarly or creative inquiry. Proposals should clearly articulate how faculty and students will work together in ways that advance scholarly or creative outcomes for faculty and meaningful development for students. URECA welcomes projects representing all forms of scholarly and creative inquiry.

For student-initiated proposals, a fully committed faculty mentor is required.
